Logging in to cPanel and creating email accounts

Updated 27 Oct 2026

Every shared hosting plan includes cPanel, the control panel for your website files, databases and email. You open it straight from the client area, without a separate password.

Logging in to cPanel

  1. Open My services and select your hosting service.
  2. Click Login to cPanel. A new tab opens and you are signed in automatically.

The same page has shortcuts to Webmail, File Manager and other tools, so you can jump straight to what you need.

Uploading your website

  • File Manager: open it from the service page or cPanel, go into public_html and upload your files. Zip archives can be uploaded and extracted in place, which is much faster than many small files.
  • FTP: create an FTP account in cPanel and connect with a program such as FileZilla.
  • WordPress: use the WordPress tools on the service page, or install it from cPanel.

The file named index.php or index.html in public_html is your home page.

Creating a database

  1. In cPanel open MySQL Databases.
  2. Create a database, then create a user with a strong password.
  3. Add the user to the database with All privileges.

Use these names in your application's settings, with localhost as the database host. phpMyAdmin is available in cPanel for importing and exporting data.

Creating an email account

  1. In cPanel open Email Accounts and click Create.
  2. Enter the address, such as [email protected], and a strong password.
  3. Click Create.

Read mail in Webmail from the service page, or add the account to Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail or your phone. cPanel's Connect Devices page shows the exact incoming and outgoing server settings.

Making sure mail is delivered

Mail works as soon as your domain uses the hosting nameservers, or has its MX record pointed at the server. To keep your messages out of spam folders, check Email Deliverability in cPanel and fix any SPF or DKIM record it reports.

SSL certificates

Free AutoSSL certificates are issued and renewed for your domains automatically. If your site still shows "Not secure" a few hours after the domain starts pointing to the hosting, open a ticket and we will run the check for you.
